I saw a note on my desk the other day.
It brought back some old memories
when I realized it was really you.
I could tell by your handwriting
and it lighten up my entire day.
I gave you a call today.
You picked up the phone
and said Hey just like I remembered.
It made me happy to hear your voice again
but when you told me how low you feel
and how much you hate everything in life.
I began to cry, I don’t think you noticed.
I tried to swallow my own tears,
I had to be strong for you.
Even though you didn’t want to tell me
what had brought you so down.
I know somehow in the heart of me
you will find some peace.
You have been very special to me
through all these years I’ve known you.
I don’t think you really know how special you are
and I wish I could do so many things for you.
It’s so many things I want to tell you
and so many things I want to do with you.
And I hope one day you will give me that chance
to share our moments, you and I.
But whatever you do, please never forget me
nor all the things, and all the moments we’ve had.
