When You Lose A Friend

I don’t know what hurts the most;
that you don’t want to talk to me
or losing a friend.
It hurts;
to have no one to talk to,
to pretend everything is fine,
to cry without tears.
It hurts
to be alone
and to be without
the best friend
I ever had.
No one will be the same,
no one like you
and it’s so sad
that I’ll never meet
another one like you again.
It hurts
when I think about you.
It saddens me to realize
there will never be
what we thought it would be.
